Moral Lesson: Acceptance and Forgiveness

We are constrained in life by our emotions. We all experience disappointment from time to time. We experience wrath, remorse, and pain, which causes us to be closed-minded. We attempt to forgive and accept each other on occasion, but neither is easy. We may remove certain aches from our life, but forgiving someone who has made an unthinkable error is the most difficult task. A mistake can change a person and a relationship in a matter of seconds, and the consequences can last a lifetime, like in Marie Aubrey Villaceran's story "Sinigang." The interesting thing about mistakes is that they are our actions, and we always have power over them. The power of a blunder is enormous. There is, however, something more powerful than that which is forgiveness.

If we want to live a happy and fulfilled life, we must learn to accept and forgive ourselves. Forgiving someone is accepting what has happened, whereas acceptance is forgiving every moment that does not go our way. This isn't to say that we approve of what was done. Forgiveness is an important element of the healing and letting go process. Mistakes have the ability to break up relationships. But forgiveness has the power to fix it and allow you to start afresh. As a 21st century learner, these moral values I got reflected me as an individual. All of these are essential to have a happy life and contentment. By doing all of these, I can say that a person is a strong and a courageous to forgive and accept what happened. In the present, I must say I can relate to some of the happenings in the story and I have appreciated and considered more to forgive and accept people that may dissapoint me in the future.
