Moral Lesson: Acceptance and Forgiveness

     We are constrained in life by our emotions. We all experience disappointment from time to time. We experience wrath, remorse, and pain, which causes us to be closed-minded. We attempt to forgive and accept each other on occasion, but neither is easy. We may remove certain aches from our life, but forgiving someone who has made an unthinkable error is the most difficult task. A mistake can change a person and a relationship in a matter of seconds, and the consequences can last a lifetime, like in Marie Aubrey Villaceran's story "Sinigang." The interesting thing about mistakes is that they are our actions, and we always have power over them. The power of a blunder is enormous. There is, however, something more powerful than that which is forgiveness.        If we want to live a happy and fulfilled life, we must learn to accept and forgive ourselves.
